Hey
For herbs I have a book called ‘Neal’s Yard Remedies’, it’s not all fancy and fairy clad, but it gives simple and good explanations and how to grow certain herbs and how to used them medically and such. Just good old fashined herbal remedies, I suppose.
For spells, rituals and the history of withcraft I’d suggest internet research. It’s alot easier to compare things and it’s better than buying 100 books which you eventually find out don’t even interest you.
It’s strongly suggestest to write spells and rituals yourself as the more personal touch there is to something in magick, the stronger it works for you. But, beginners usually start off with spells/rituals that other people have written. So if you’re new to it all, start there, then begin to edit them to fit your own personal preference, then eventually you should be able to just write them off the bat. But, if you’re as uncreative as me, stick to just playing around with a traditional spell/ritual so that you can get the best out of it and not have to stress over what things you need for it (if any), and if you feel silly saying words that someone else has written. I usually feel that incantations other people have written feel ridiculous for me to say, so I edit either single sentences or the whole thing. Though most posts on here are written by me unless stated otherwise, or a source isn’t provided.
Good luck, and thank you for your question (:
